CBI Book Case against 5 Income Tax Officials and Another Person Used for Cheat Assessment

Hyderabad: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a case against six people, including five Hyderabad-based Income Tax Officials (IT) departments – two inspectors, three senior tax assistants and a private allegation of fraudulent income tax assessments.

The five Income Tax officials working in Hyderabad are Gulnaz Rawoof and Kuthadi Srinivas Rao, both Income Tax Inspectors, Quama Aulam Khan, a Senior Tax Assistant at the office of Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT), Manish Sikrawal, a Senior Tax Assistant at the Aayakar Bhawan office in Basheerbagh, and Mohammad Javeed, a Senior Tax Assistant working at the The Income CBI press release said Condapur and the private tax office are chartered accountants Pulimamidi Bhagath.

The case was registered after allegations of condonation, defrauded the income tax assessment and gained an undue advantage for itself. They allegedly abused data circulated by the income tax department’s data on income tax assessments that claimed high refunds and directed the sending of a notice to initiate an inquiry.

Abuse of the data, the defendant civil servant contacted the assessment by phone and threatened them with serious punishment. In addition, they allegedly gained an improper advantage in the defendant chartered accountant’s account and transferred the same to their account.

The CBI searched the defendant’s premises in six places in Hyderabad, which led to documents from some criminals. The investigation continues.
