On April 22, terrorists opened fire on unarmed tourists in Pahalgam, killing 26 people and injuring several others.

Khawaja Asif also mentioned that Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called for an international investigation into the Pahargam attack. “Such investigations will reveal whether India itself or some internal groups are involved, and the truth behind the unfounded allegations in New Delhi will be revealed,” Asif said.

Pakistan mobilized control of its troops in fear of military action against India following the Pahalgam attack. Pakistan also poses a nuclear threat to India.
