Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said consumer protection regulators have issued notices to several e-commerce companies, including Amazon India and Wal-Mart-owned Flipkart, directing them to cancel items with Pakistani flags from their platforms.

The Central Consumer Protection Agency (CCPA) also sent notices to Ubuy India, Etsy, Flag Company and Flag Corporation that the sale of Pakistan’s flag and related goods would be intolerable.

“This kind of insensitive person will not tolerate it. E-commerce platforms are instructed to immediately remove all of this content and comply with national laws,” Mr Josh said in a social media post.

However, the minister’s position did not violate what laws were violated by selling goods.
