BSF soldiers were killed, Pakistani shelling injured

New Delhi/Jiemu: Officials said a BSF soldier was killed on Saturday, opening fire along Pakistan along her international border, and seven others were injured. They said the incident occurred in the RS Pura department.
A senior Border Security Force (BSF) official said Deputy Inspector Mohammed Imteyaz made the highest sacrifice while also advancing from the frontline.
He and seven others were injured in a cross-border shooting initiated by Pakistan. The official said other personnel were taken to the hospital when imteyaz succumbed to his injuries.
“We have given the highest sacrifice to BSF BraveHeart Deputy Inspector MD Imteyaz, the unit at X.
It added that the Director General of the BSF and all ranks expressed deepest condolences to his family.
A wreath ceremony was held at the BSF Chamu border headquarters in Palola on Sunday in honor of Imteyaz, the official said.
The BSF’s mission is to protect the frontlines of more than 2,000 kilometers between India and Pakistan.
India and Pakistan have agreed to a ceasefire, with Foreign Minister Vikram Misri announcing that the directors of the military operations of both countries have decided to stop all shootings and military operations that will take effect at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
