Central Project Will Strengthen Port Modernization and Hindu Tourism in Goa: CM

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Wednesday (19 March 2025) that the central government has launched various projects under the leadership of Sagarmala, such as port modernization and strengthening of the terminals to enhance hinterland tourism and daily commuting in the coastal areas.
He attended and attended the National Sagamara Supreme Council meeting chaired by Trade Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, in the presence of New Delhi’s cabinet colleague Nitin Gadkari.
Representatives of senior coastal states and government officials attended the meeting.
The statement said that industrialization of port links aims to unlock the potential for development of port leadership through the exports envisioned by the Prime Minister under the Prime Minister’s leadership.
Mr. Thorent said coastal community development remains a priority, working to improve skills, social and financial integration, and economic growth, while also exploring new avenues such as Ro-Ro Services and Water Metro.
