CERT-IN issues a high severity warning to Google Chrome users

The Computer Emergency Response Team India (CERT-IN) has issued a “high” severity warning for Google Chrome Web browsers.
Date on May 16, 2025, a vulnerability note from Cert-In: “A number of vulnerabilities have been reported in Google Chrome that allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on the target system.”
The Nodal Government Cybersecurity Agency said the vulnerabilities were identified in Windows, Mac and Linux in Google Chrome.
According to CERT-IN, the versions of Google Chrome before Windows and Mac and the versions of 136.0.7103.113/.114 of Linux before 136.0.7103.113 are affected.
“There are multiple vulnerabilities in Google Chrome due to insufficient policy enforcement in the loader and incorrect handling provided in cases not specified in Mojo. Remote attackers can exploit these vulnerabilities by persuading victims to access special and well-designed web pages,” the vulnerability notes say.
It further noted: “This vulnerability (CVE-2025-4664) is being exploited in the wild. Users are advised to apply patches/mitigations urgently.”
CERT-IN recommends that users update their Google Chrome Web browser to the latest version, which can be accessed through Chrome’s update system.
