“A 2018 Motor Vehicle (High Safety Registration Board) Order for displaying color-coded stickers/third registration marks on the windshield of a vehicle. Non-eligibility that does not meet the above orders will also attract Section 192(1) of the Automobile Act of 1988,” said the public notice issued by the department on Sunday.
Article 192(1) of the Motor Vehicle Act provides that persons who violate Article 39 (Section 39 relating to registration) drive or allow motor vehicles to be punished.
The notice further said: “The owners are advised to ensure strict compliance with the above orders.”
In 2020, the Ministry of Transport decided to initiate a special drive to oppose violations of high-security digital boards (HSRP), according to the case, there is a fine of Rs 5,000 on any vehicle without HSRP and stickers on the digital board.
According to officials, the HSRP number board was introduced in 2012-13 and was mandatory for all new vehicles in April 2019. The government has forced HSRP fixation for all old vehicles in Delhi. By the rules, the color-coded stickers for diesel vehicles are orange, for light blue and gray for gasoline and CNG vehicles, all other vehicles.
Owners who do not comply with this order will not be able to control the pollution (PUC) certificate.
