Charminar, Laad Bazaar

Hyderabad: Hyderabad’s iconic Charminar and Laad Bazaar are undergoing a transformation for the Miss World Heritage Walk on May 13. The area is being cleaned, decorated and beautified to welcome contestants who are expected to walk throughout the extension and experience the charm of the historic market.

Date palm trees were planted near Peter Rapur and the City College. GHMC) focuses on sanitation, patchwork repair, road maintenance and plantation work. “There is a lot of loss in these places, so our work is being done quickly and effectively,” said a GHMC official who asked not to be named.

Lighting arrangements are also underway. Special lanterns are being installed on the 300-meter-long Laad Bazaar extension where contestants will shop. “We chose a safer lantern design to avoid any damage due to the strong winds,” the official added. Lantern lighting is expected to be completed on Sunday night.

Security will be closer, with female police officers deployed to ensure the safety of contestants and protect their privacy, especially when talking to the public. “The idea is to let Miss World participants interact with locals and enjoy the atmosphere without being disturbed,” the official said.

Seven tour buses were tested in Charminar on Sunday to check for smooth travel and coordination. Women police officers conducted a trial in Laad Bazaar to inspect the smooth sidewalks of contestants.
