“Chatgpt solved my 5-year jaw problem in one minute”: LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman shares the virus that doctors missed Reddit winner

LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman recently highlighted a viral Reddit post where users claim Chatgpt helped solve long-term medical problems in a minute (after unsuccessful treatment failure).

Reddit user experienced a lasting chin click (probably due to boxing injuries), and he said the issue was still unresolved despite seeing an ENT specialist who went through two MRIs and was referred by a maxillofacial specialist. Frustrated, they turned to changpt on a whim. AI suggests that the disc of the jaw may be slightly displaced but movable, and suggests opening techniques involving tongue placement and symmetry.

“I followed the instructions that could be a maximum of one minute, suddenly… no clicks,” the user wrote. “After five years of life, this AI gave me a fix in one minute. Unreal.”
Hoffman shared this story on X (formerly Twitter), drawing attention to the potential of AI in personalized healthcare.

Hoffman disagreed when another user commented that “doctors hate chatgpt” and “is 1000% more useful than WebMD”. He replied: “I’m not sure they’ll hate it. If implemented correctly, AI can help doctors diagnose patients faster, reduce paperwork and see more patients in the day.”

While medical experts warn against using AI tools to replace professional diagnosis, Reddit Post adds new fuel to the debate on how AI can change daily health advice and supplement clinical care.
