As the global spotlight shifts to Telangana, where Miss India 2025 beauty pageant will be held, Miss India 2023 Nandini Gupta’s view on this event is much more than a celebration of beauty. In with Hindu During her visit to Hyderabad, she described it as a moment of pride and transformation, Telangana’s role as a host, marking the defining chapter in India’s ever-evolving beauty pageant landscape.
How does it feel to represent India in Miss World 2025, especially since the event has been held in India?
I can’t wait to let all Miss World contestants come and experience what India has to offer. In our country, we will not only pass on jewelry. We convey love, heritage, culture and values. This is the person I am most excited to represent in the world. It’s not just about showing what I’ve learned, but also about embracing everything I’ve learned on this journey.
What do you think of Telangana hosting global events like Miss World?
Telangana really puts India on the global stage. I think Miss World has made a brilliant choice by choosing India and with the support of the Telangana government, it makes more sense. When I first heard that the event was going to be here, it reminded me of a moment that was less valued. But now, with India hosting for the second consecutive year, it has gained international recognition. This activity can enhance tourism, enhance the economy, and attract attention on our local handlooms, handicrafts and weavers.
Are you preparing for Miss World’s event?
The journey is transformative. Next month, I look forward to the development of interacting with contestants from around the world. I believe in learning, learning and re-learning, and I know that this experience will shape me from the inside out.
Miss World’s place emphasizes “purposeful beauty.” Can you tell us more about your project? Ekta?
Purposeful beauty It is a beautiful initiative. Julia Morley, who leads Miss World organization, said that despite the gradual disappearance of beauty, purpose gives beauty meaning. This really resonated with me. My project Ekta Inspired by my uncle, who suffers from polio and disability. Growing up, I saw people never really accept him. Their love feels conditional and he is often isolated. and EktaI want to not only help people like him, I want to enhance their abilities. I don’t need to create a large-scale change at once. But if I could have a positive impact on ten lives, I would know that my purpose was achieved.
People are increasingly aware of the inclusiveness of body image and aesthetics.
I believe everyone is the same, just like our fingers. Some are long, some are short, some are delicate, but together form a functional hand. In the same way, everyone has unique strengths and weaknesses. When we unite and compassion, we become a stronger society. We are not trying to fit a single mold, but we are trying to stand out.
