The Thiruvananthapuram Fast Track special court in connection with child abuse cases sentenced a civil servant at a government school to 18 years of strict imprisonment (RI) for sexual abuse on an 11-year-old student with hearing and speech impairment.

The female nurse sexually harassed a sixth-grade student at the school hotel on September 5, 2019, according to prosecutors led by Special Prosecutor Vijay Mohan RS. Another student with a disability had witnessed the abuse, but the defendant threatened him not to disclose the incident.
But two weeks later, witnesses leaked the incident to another person. This is noticed by Matron, who re-issued the threat. Other children observed this behavior and they eventually informed the school authorities. The museum police then registered a case.
Survivors and witnesses were examined in court with the help of sign language interpreters. The prosecutor inspected 25 witnesses and introduced 28 documents.
