Chennai police arrested two people from Maharashtra for drug smuggling, 300 kilograms of Ganja

Tamparam City police arrested two drug vendors on Tuesday (22 April 2025) and caught 300 kilograms of Ganja, allegedly smuggled from Andhra Pradesh.

Upon receiving information about drug smuggling on Tuesday morning, a special police team from the Sankar Nagar police station began surveillance on Anakaputur Service Road near Bharath Petrol Bunk and bit two men who were identified as Tejas Bapu Waghmare, 28-year-old Solapur, solapur and Sagara Sahadev erande, 31-year-old beade, bapuwaghmare.

Police caught 300 kg of Ganja and a minivan from them. Then they were arrested.

During the trial, they admitted that they had purchased contraband from Andhra Pradesh to provide contraband to workers and residents in and around Pallavaram and Chromepet areas of Chennai. They were sent to judicial remand.
