Chennamaneni Ramesh should not be called Ex-Mla, because he is not Indian: Adi Srinivas

Congress whipped Adi Srinivas, saying that Chennamaneni Ramesh had won the vemulawada parliamentary elections in the past because he was not an Indian citizen.
Mr Srinivas said he had been talking to the Mediapersons of the Telangana High Court after levying a check of Rs 2.5 lakh, as part of the fine imposed by the Telangana High Court on Chennamaneni Ramesh, saying he had been working to prove that Ramesh was not an Indian citizen and was ultimately maintained by the HC. On December 9, 2024, the HC issued a verdict declaring Mr Ramesh as a German citizen and without Indian citizenship.
Mr. Ramesh was elected as MLA four times from Vemulawada. Among the bystanders in 2009 and 2010, he won the BRS vote in the Telugu DESAM votes and in 2014 and 2018. Adi Srinivas lost to him three times before winning the election with a congressional vote in 2023. Adi Srinivas has always claimed that Mr Ramesh is not an Indian citizen.
The judgment against Mr. Ramesh was brought by Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy in his petition for orders, challenging the decision of the Union Government to declare him a German citizen. Mr Srinivas said: “If the Indian citizen of Ramesh is proven to be wrong, I will become an MLA ten years ago.”
He said Ramesh’s case could be the first in the world to become an MLA without becoming a citizen of the country. Mr Srinivas said he had asked the state government to investigate Ramesh’s false claims and file a criminal lawsuit. He said he would contact HC to recover Mr Ramesh’s salary and other financial benefits as a legislator.
