chhattisgarh uses AI to accelerate the end of Maoism

Reibull: Chhattisgarh police will use artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze databases prepared by Maoists to conduct “all-weather” surveillance of their activities and movements.

A senior police officer told the newspaper here on Saturday that he asked for anonymity to develop a software that would store the data bases about Maoists, hiding places and frequent movements, as well as activities on social media and activities on social media.

The database to be prepared will cover Maoists, their families and acquaintances, local locations for social media groups if they are active in any weapon, the type of weapon they carry, frequent party spots, and their hiding places.

Sources said the data will be uploaded to the software being developed.

Police said the AI will analyze the database to determine how specific Maoists work, their functional style and their lifestyle.

Data on local villages, their profiles, areas of operations, rewards announced by them, and reports on surveys on their activities will be fed into the software for AI analysis.

Content uploaded by Maoists on their social media sites and on their website portals will also be fed into the software.

“This move will help security forces take real-time action against Maoists,” the police officer said.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah set a goal to end Maoism in the country in March 2026.

So far, Chhattisgarh has arrested up to 237 Maoists, 812 arrests and 723 Naxals have been arrested.
