Chief Secretary directs officials to prevent drinking water crisis

Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand directed regional collectors to take all necessary steps to prevent drinking water shortages in Andhra Pradesh during the summer. During a video conference with Secretariat and district officials on Thursday, he stressed the urgent need to implement a summer action plan to ensure uninterrupted water supply plans.

Of the 332 dominations, a total of 3,438 residences were identified as susceptible to water shortage, and Rs 6731 crore was allocated to address the problem. CS directs collectors to ensure timely water supply through tankers, rent private water sources if needed, and repair or repair temporary supply systems, manual pumps and power holes. He also stressed the importance of inspecting pipes, preventing leakage and ensuring generator backups for uninterrupted water supply.

Special monitoring cells will be established at the state and regional levels to deal with complaints received through public complaint systems, media and free calls in 1902. He also urged to set up complaint cells in local institutions in the city and promote awareness of water conservation.

Vijayanand reviewed the Swarnandhra and Swachhandhra plans, calling for monthly Swachhandhra Days, e-waste management training for SHGS, and public publicity campaigns. Chief Secretary Mukesh Kumar Meena and other senior officials attended the meeting.
