On Sunday, children of Samskara Shibiram 2025 organized by Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama were organized in Tirupati on Sunday.
Up to 60 children participated in the “Homam” of Samskara Shibiram (summer camp) organized by Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama on Sunday. Students from 5 to 10 classes also teach yoga, crafts, Bhajans, Sanskrit Shlokas, Srimad Bhagavad Gita, Indian culture, in addition to garland making, self-defense, archery, Karrasamu and other skills.
Ashrama’s secretary Swami Sukritananda called Homam the “internal cleaning ceremony” to ensure students attend. The children provided the “bilwa” leaves to the sacrifice fire and were sworn in to pray for a life of education, physical fitness, character, authenticity and discipline.
Secretary Ashrama said: “After the ceremony, the students felt rejuvenated. During the camp, they also explained the importance of respecting the elders, especially parents and teachers.” The 21-day camp ended on May 18.
