As many as 22 people were killed and three others were injured after a fire broke out in a restaurant in Leyayang on Tuesday.

The fire broke out at 12:25 pm on Tuesday (local time). As many as 22 fire trucks and 85 firefighters were sent to the scene of the incident, where they quickly extinguished the flames and conducted a search and rescue operation.
The rescue operation is now over. Xinhua News Agency reported that medical experts were sent to the scene to treat the injured and conducted an investigation.
The Work Safety Bureau under the leadership of China’s State Council requires an emergency investigation into the incident and requires the rapid determination of the cause of the fire. In addition, a working group from the Ministry of Emergency Management arrived at the site of the incident to guide the investigation.
