China made a major statement in Donald Trump’s 245% tariff: “If we continue…”

The White House announced tariffs on Chinese goods as a 245% citing China’s retaliatory actions.

In the ongoing trade war between the United States and China, Beijing said it would not participate further, noting that it would be unnoticed if the United States continues to escalate tariffs, hitting up to 245% tariffs under President Donald Trump’s policies.

China warned that it would ignore further U.S. tariff escalations and said: “If the U.S. continues to play the ‘tariff number game’, it will not pay attention to it.”

The White House announced tariffs on Chinese goods as a 245% citing China’s retaliatory actions. The total duties include a 125% mutual tariff, a 20% tariff on the fentanyl crisis and a 7.5-100% tariff on specific goods due to unfair trade practices.

U.S. President Donald Trump has rejected higher tariffs in most countries but has been punishing China for its duties. China responded by proposing its own tax on American goods and stressing that conversations must be based on mutual respect and equality. Other countries are now exploring bilateral deals with Washington, which could shift from China’s trade relations with the United States.

Meanwhile, China recently filed a new complaint to the World Trade Organization (WTO), expressing serious concerns about U.S. tariffs and accusing Washington of violating global trade rules. Amid the escalating tensions, China unexpectedly appointed Lee Changgang as the new top trade negotiator, replacing Wang Shuwen. Lee, formerly China’s ambassador to the WTO, will play a crucial role in potential trade negotiations to resolve the ongoing tariff war with the United States. The trade war has caused the United States to impose tariffs of up to 245% on Chinese goods, prompting China to respond 125% to U.S. exports.

Against the US tariff war, China has also adopted a multifaceted approach to imposing retaliatory tariffs on US goods, seeking support with India and the European Union, and stressing the need for the US to “unilateral bully” against the US.
