China supports Pakistan, “will help safeguard sovereignty and territorial integrity”

The Foreign Minister made these comments in a statement from the Foreign Ministry during a telephone conversation with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Saturday that his country will continue to support Pakistan’s “sovereignty, territorial integrity and national independence.” The Foreign Minister made these comments in a statement from the Foreign Ministry during a telephone conversation with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
During the conversation, Dar introduced Wang Yi to the growing regional situation.
Wang Yi acknowledged Pakistan’s “restraint and appreciated its responsible approach in challenging situations”.
“He reiterated that China, as Pakistan’s all-weather strategic partner and friend of Iron-clothed, will continue to uphold Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and national independence,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
In addition, Dar also spoke with the UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed, who welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India.
DAR also spoke with Türkiye Hakan Fidan’s Foreign Minister and informed him of the current situation in the region.
President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that India and Pakistan have agreed to a “full and direct” ceasefire, claiming it was the result of U.S.-mediated talks.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, while praising Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Shehbaz Sharif, called it a ceasefire for American agents to “their wisdom, prudence and politicians choose the path to peace.”
The ceasefire dangerously escalated the ongoing conflict hours after India and Pakistan attacked each other’s military facilities.
