Young couple showing PDA on Bangalore Metro and Delhi Metro, Internet shocked

A viral video of a couple showing intimate behavior at Madawara metro station in Bangalore has sparked anger and attracted attention to public decency.
Videos of a young couple showing intimate behavior at a Bengaluru metro station have been all the rage, leading to widespread criticism and a fierce debate online about public etiquette.
The incident was reportedly at Madavala Metro Station, and the couple approached each other while waiting for the train. In the video, the boy can be seen inserting his hand into the girl’s T-shirt, even other passengers, including the elderly, stand nearby. Their behavior, which many believe does not apply to public places, is now the center of an online storm.
The clip was first shared on X (formerly Twitter) by a user named Karnataka Portfolio, which titled it:
“Is Bangalore moving towards Delhi Metro culture?? It has disturbed public behavior at Nama Metro Station, raising questions about decent Bangalore.”
The post strongly criticized the behavior, noting that “public space is suitable for everyone, children, women, families, elders and believes that intimacy in people regarding it as a private area is both disrespectful and shameful.” It also adds that this reflects the “increasing lack of shame and decency” of people who seem to care about how their actions affect others.
The video elicited a mixed response online. Many users support the idea that public places should be safe and respectful, especially for families and the elderly. They asked the authorities to take action to prevent such incidents from happening again.
However, others raised privacy issues. Some netizens believe that if the faces of the relevant personnel are not blurred, the video should not be uploaded online.
One user commented: “Public behavior should be educated rather than publicly humiliated.” Another added: “The harm of posting such videos outweighs the benefits, which makes learning moments a public embarrassment.”
As the debate continues, the incident highlights the growing discussion in India about where to draw the line between emotion and public indignity and how we can create a more respected public place for everyone.
