“Narrow Och, Secession Agenda”: India’s claims against Jamu and Kashmir in the United Nations have slammed Pakistan’s claims | World News

India strongly denounced Pakistan for re-raising the Jamu and Kashmir issues in the UN Security Council debate on peacekeeping reforms. Parvathaneni Harish, the ambassador of India, said the region was an integral part of India and called on Pakistan to evacuate its “illegal occupation”.

India’s representative Harish fought back against the issue of Jamu and Kashmir, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Syed Tariq Fatemi, raised the issue of Jamu and Kashmir in the UN Security Council debate on peacekeeping and preservation of the future.

Harish spoke at the meeting, dismissing Pakistan’s reference to Jamu and Kashmir as “unnecessary” and accusing neighboring countries of trying to “shift” from the core discussion on peacekeeping.

“India was forced to point out that Pakistan’s representatives have once again resorted to unfounded remarks on the territory of Jamu and Kashmir’s Indian Union. This repetitive reference cannot testify its illegal claims nor prove cross-border terrorism sponsored by its state.”

Harish further emphasized Pakistan’s lack of legal claims about Jamu and Kashmir. “Pakistan continues to illegally occupy the territory of Jamu and Kashmir, which must be evacuated,” he said.

Harish rejected Islamabad’s attempt to use the United Nations forum on its “narrow and separatist agenda” and advised Pakistan not to shift the focus of the debate. “We advise Pakistan not to try to divert the attention of this forum,” he said, adding that India will not make a long rebuttal. He concluded: “India will avoid exercising a more detailed right to reply.”

Last week, India also rejected Pakistan’s allegations of human rights violations in Jamu and Kashmir at a UN Human Rights Commission meeting in Geneva. India reiterates its position in seeking peaceful relations, but asserts that Islamabad must first create a horror-free environment for any meaningful dialogue.
