Regional collector Sumit Kumar asked livestock department officials to initiate measures to take advantage of opportunities in the dairy and poultry sectors in addition to agriculture. Collectors held a meeting Thursday with livestock officials to raise awareness about job opportunities in poultry and dairy development.
Collectors say farmers interested in poultry will be trained through the successful Poultry Farmers and National Egg Coordination Committee (NECC). In addition, the government will discuss with bank officials and ensure loans are made by those interested in establishing poultry farms.
Mr. Sumit Kumar asked interested farmers to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for this purpose. He asked officials to prepare a list of people interested in investing in the poultry and dairy sectors and promised discussions with banks to provide loans to interested farmers.
Ramesh, a member of the NECC Executive Committee, said that only those interested in the department can succeed in the business and ensure that they are provided with all possible support.
