Christchurch Airport: “The Best in the World” Christchurch Airport hit by fog, flight operations affected

Two flights were delayed at 8.40 a.m. Thursday, and the airport’s website reported flights from Auckland to Christchurch were cancelled, according to a spokesman for Christchurch.
Among the affected airlines, Jetstar is Jetstar, which has had to postpone flights from Auckland and Air New Zealand. The latter had to cancel flights to Invercargill due to the fog and also transferred some of them from Christchurch.
Just three weeks ago, Christchurch Airport was named the best of the study of 3,500 international travelers. New Zealand’s Queenstown Airport is second. Portugal’s Madeira Airport ranked third with a score of 9.07.
The study involved 3500 international travelers focusing on airport experiences. Travelers rate airports based on factors such as customer service and ease of navigation. Nineteen airports received enough reviews to be included in the rankings.
The remaining airports in the ranking include Lanzarote, Spain (8.91); Fuerteventura, Spain (8.89); Athens, Greece (8.88); Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, Spain (8.69); Malaga, Spain (8.61); Milan Marpanza, Italy (8.54); Auckland, New Zealand (8.49); Bari, Italy (8.48); Porto, Portugal (8.47); Mauritius (8.33); Lisbon, Portugal (8.32); Tenerife South, Tenerife, Spain and Catania – Fontanarossa, Italy (8.28); Fomisino, Rome, Italy (8.24); Bergamo, Italy (8.10); and Marrakech, Morocco (7.58). According to Traveler Review, the study’s method involves a scale of one to 10, providing a quantifiable measure of airport quality.
