Church against parking fines on Sunday

Hyderabad: Several churches throughout the city expressed concern about traffic fines for vehicles parked near church houses during the service, especially on Sundays and other special occasions. Church representatives said they repeatedly appealed to the transport authorities, but their pleas were not paid attention.

On Saturday, the General Assembly of Dr. Jitender, Director of the Delegation of the Church Leaders, raised questions. They urged police to consider relaxing parking enforcement near the church during worship hours. “Traffic challenges are issued every Sunday during the service at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. We contacted local traffic inspectors but no relief was provided,” said Goba Solomon of Narayanguda Baptist Church.

Similarly, B. Prem Sagar of Hebron Church of Golconda Crossroads said: “Even on Good Friday, our congregation faces challenges. Despite repeated requests, the problem of every Sunday remains.” Pastor Menno Joel of MALAKPET MB Church responded to concerns, saying the fine has become a routine every Sunday.

Devadas Sagar, organizer of the recently concluded Bible School of Bible, Abids recently concluded, said: “The ten-day program ended a week ago has been held for more than 100 years each year. The time is from 7.30 AM to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11 to 11.

Churches, including the MB church in Golconda Crossroads, CSI Wesley Church in Ramkote and Lutheran Church in Lakdikapul, have joined the appeal, asking authorities to consider relaxation during worship.

On Friday, Christian leaders and church representatives filed a formal complaint in the CM Prajavani program, complaining about traffic police officers of Hyderabad, Sebrabad and Rachakonda. They said vehicles temporarily parked on the roadside during the service were penalized. G. Chinna Reddy, vice chairman of the state planning committee responsible for the Prajavani meeting, acknowledged the complaint and forwarded a letter to the DGP for intervention.
