CISF personnel cross the coastal route of India to maintain contact with the community to safeguard maritime interests

In terms of safeguarding national maritime interests (March 31, 2025), the CISF said that the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel completed a cyclical expedition, crossing 6,553 kilometers along the Indian coastline to connect and empower local communities and recognize their crucial role as security forces in their eyes and ears.

“The security forces started this first pan-Indian event on March 7 and reached its peak today at the iconic Swami Vivekananda Kendra in Kanyakumari,” CISF said.

“A central tenet of this endeavour was to acknowledge and celebrate the invaluable contributions of local residents as “Tat Praharis” (Coastal Sentinels)..it aimed to educate the Coastal Community regarding the diverse security threats confronting India’s coastline, including the illicit activities of smuggling (encompassing drugs, weapons, and explosives), the necessity of vigilance against intrusion, and the critical importance of Environmental protection in these ecologically sensitive areas,” CISF said.
