Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s coach reveals how he prepares for the IPL

In a big auction last year, Rajasthan Royals took over Suryavanshi for INR 11 crore, and he has been eating strictly in order to prepare for the challenge of the IPL.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 14-year-old prodigy from Rajasthan Royals, made a sensation when he debuted with Lucknow Super Giants at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday, April 19. This outstanding feat made him the youngest player ever in league history. He came to join as a hit, and he opened the batting along with the companion of left-handed Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Suryavanshi was impressed without wasting time, with six shots being fired by experienced Indian all-around player Shardul Thakur. He continued to get an impressive 34 runs, with only 20 goals stuck by Rishabh Pant. After this exciting performance, his coach Manish Ojha shared some insights about young cricketers, including details about his diet.
“Lamb nahi khana hai usko, instruct hain. [Mutton is not allowed for him as per the instructions. Pizza has been removed from his diet chart]. He just likes chicken and lamb. He was a kid, so he used to love pizza very much. But he stopped eating. When we once gave him lamb, he would do all of it no matter how much lamb we gave. That’s why he looks a little fat. ” Ojha told the Times of India.
“He’s going to go a long way. We’ve seen how he started the inning and I can assure you that he’s going to score in the upcoming game. He’s a fearless batsman. He said time and time again, he admires Brian Lara. But he’s a mix of Yuvraj Singh and Brian Lara.”
Royals have been sitting on the bench during the big auction last November, which received Suryavasnhi of INR 110 million. However, one of the openings opened as Captain Sanju Samson was caught in the situation due to a abdominal injury. RR management decided it was finally time for the young talent to shoot, telling him to “be prepared for your IPL debut”.
“He was very happy. He called me after his practice session yesterday and said (Rahul) Dravid sir and the management called him and told him that he will be playing against Lucknow Super Giants. He was elated. But was tensed. I said just be calm and play the way you have been. He said chakke waala ball ayega to maunga, rukunga nahi [if the ball asks to be hit for a six, won’t hesitate],” said the coach.
When it comes to the game, both teams did play. Suryavanshi and Jaiswal established a solid foundation for the Rajasthan Royals through an open partnership, but soon there were several quick wickets that made them feel hot. Thanks to some nervous bowling from LSG, the royals found themselves in need of 9 finals, while Shubham Dubey and Dhruv Jurel were in the crease. Unfortunately, they worked hard to handle the professionally delivered Yorkers of Avesh Khan and ended up running just twice.
