The Uttara Kannada Regional Government is preparing for exercises to effectively protect citizens during the crisis based on the direction sent by the Alliance Government in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
Uttara Kannada K. Lakshmipriya’s deputy commissioner held a preparatory meeting in Karwar on Tuesday night, he said Paid Pahalgam identified Uttara Kannada in Category 2.
“The longest coastline and several sensitive areas of Uttara Kannada have been identified as simulation exercises. We were told that the date of the simulation exercise will be conducted within a week, so we are preparing for it,” she said.
The Deputy Commissioner said there was only one place in the area selected for the mock drill. She said: “The simulation exercise will include evacuating citizens from safety, preventing fires, and protecting the coastline. Under the exercise, the hospital will be examined for preparations in handling health care emergencies and will be inspected to guard sensitive areas.
The principal of police officer Narayan, assistant commissioner Kanishka, other principals of police officer Jagadish, officials from NPCIL from Kaiga were present.
