CM approves proposal for another battalion of the Odisha Industrial Security Force

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi approved a proposal to create another Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF) in the state, an official said.
Mr. Majhi approved the proposal on Saturday (20 April 2025). The new battalion also created 1,040 positions for this, the official said.
The state already has an OISF camp in the state. Its total number of posts is 1,807. After the creation of a new battalion, the number of positions in both battalions will be 2,847.
“Given the growing industrial activity in the state and maintaining law and order in different industrial hubs, the state government decided to add another battalion of the OISF,” said a senior police officer.
Recently, in a meeting with trade union home minister Amit Shah, Mr. Ma had said the state is planning to recruit 3,000 security personnel for the OISF.
