22 Naxalits arrested and occupied explosives in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh

Twenty-two Nasars were arrested in three places in the Bijapur region of Chhattisgarh and caught explosive materials from them, police said on Thursday. An official said a forest near the village of Lower Tekmetla in the Usul Police Department was arrested on Tuesday, when the Cobra Joint Team (elite force of the Commando Battalion sololute Action-soal-CRPF) and local police were in a region ruled.

He said six other naxalites were arrested from the fortress in the village of Belchar within the Jangla police station, while nine cadres were arrested from the forest in Kandakarka village below the district of Nelasnar police station. A separate joint team of security personnel participated in both operations.

The official said Tiffan bombs, gelatin rods, detonators, wires, batteries, Maoist brochures and other items were found from the arrested Naxals aged 19 to 45.
