CM praises the role of commercial tax in Karnataka’s successful 5 guarantee scheme

Bangalore: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Saturday that tax evasion was the highest in the city of Bangalore and believed that it was necessary to operate the commercial tax. But, he said, despite being the finance minister, he does not want to “unnecessarily” in the operation of the commercial tax sector.

Siddaramaiah thanked officials concerned about the role of Karnataka business tax in increasing tax collection, thus successfully implementing 5 guarantee schemes, such as free bus trips for women in state-owned buses, up to 200 copies of free power for families, a cash benefit scheme of Rs 200,000 for one family and two other people.

“Tax collection is very good,” said the chief minister commemorating the Golden Jubilee of the Karnataka Commercial Tax Services Association organized in Bangalore. Currently, Karnataka is ranked second in the country’s GST series, he said.

The Chief Minister praised the role of the business tax officials, saying one goal was Rs 1,03,000 crore, and the business tax officials exceeded the target by charging more Rs 1.7 billion than the target.

The Chief Minister said a tax target of Rs 1,20,000 has been given this year and business tax officials are required to achieve the set goals. The national budget is estimated at Rs 409 crore, with the total amount of implementing the 5-enterprise guarantee scheme at Rs 50, and Rs 018 crore has been designated. The chief minister said that so far, the state government has spent Rs 9,000 crore.

Siddaramaiah said the Karnataka opposition criticized the rule of Congress and asked the state government to believe that five guarantee plans drove the state to “bankruptcy.” However, the role of business tax in meeting set goals is commendable.

He said the state government is committed to meeting the legal requirements of state employees, but at the same time it has taken action against officials who are concerned about responsibility.
