CM Revanth launches driving hiring 1,061 university professors

Hyderabad:Chief Secretary A. Revanth Reddy announced Tuesday that he would drive to recruit 1,061 state universities’ assistant professors, the first such initiative in 15 years. The move is designed to address the shortage of teachers that plagued universities during TME.
Revanth Reddy shared the news in a social media post saying recruitment is a key step in strengthening the state’s academic infrastructure. He accused the former BRS government of serious negligence on higher education, especially in institutions serving socially and economically weak students.
“It is surprising that this recruitment process has not happened in the last 15 years,” the chief minister said. “The former BRS government’s negligence in education for impoverished children is an unforgivable crime. We are recognizing and correcting these mistakes made in every system during the BRS regime.” Revanth Reddy highlighted the state’s commitment to transparency and reform, adding that guidance on the recruitment process has been released. He said the university will soon form a dedicated committee to finalize the roster and retain norms for appointments.
To ensure accountability, the government will publish candidate scores and selection lists at each stage of the recruitment process on the official website, allowing public access and review. “This is part of our greater mission to rebuild the nation,” Revanth Reddy said, reaffirming his government’s position as a “people’s government” and determined to restore equity and efficiency in all systems.
