sindoor action: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed strong support for the military operation after the Indian Armed Forces carried out “Operation Sindoor”. The operation targeted nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) in response to the April 22 attack on Pahargam that killed 26 civilians.
Yogi Adityanath wrote in his tweet: “जय!!जयहिंद!” (“Jai Hind! Victory to the Indian Army!”). His message celebrates the courage and swift action of the Indian armed forces in dismantling the terrorist infrastructure associated with the attack.
The Indian government described the action as “concentrated, measured and non-elevated”, targeting terrorist camps while avoiding military facilities in civilian areas and Pakistan.
Pahalgam attacked tourists in the Baisaran valley, and militants reportedly selected individuals based on religion. The resistance front related to Lashkar-e-Taiba initially claimed responsibility, but its statement was later withdrawn. The investigation shows that Pakistani nationals and Pakistani intelligence agency ISI support.
In retaliation, India suspended the Indian Waters Treaty, fired Pakistani diplomats and closed its airspace to Pakistan Airlines. Pakistan retaliated by suspending visas for Indian nationals and closing their space to Indian aircraft.
