CMRL’s return case: Special Court sends notice to Veena Thaikkandiyil, daughter of CM Pinarayi Vijayan in Kerala

Veena Thaikkandiyil, daughter of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and other respondents from Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL) will soon be notified by the Special Court.

After careful study of the final complaint filed by the investigative body, the court ruled to issue a notice. The court also found that the complaint was not flawed. A complaint will be assigned a number before notifying the respondent. Respondents can challenge the court to maintainability of SFIO complaints.

SFIO reportedly claims Ms. Veena and her now-extinct IT company Exalogic Solutions have received a “fraudulent payment” of Rs 7,27 crore from CMRL. SFIO lists Sasidharan Kartha, managing director of CMRL, Exalogic and Empower India Capital Investments Private Limited as other respondents in the final complaint.

The other day, the Enforcement Bureau (ED) sought a copy of the final complaint from the Special Court.
