Mumbai: Kolkata Cavaliers head coach Chandrakant Pandit supported the team’s idea of greater control over the tonal nature of their own at home venue on Sunday, saying they were “expected to provide something” in Eden as well.
Since the tone nature of the KKR home venue has been discussed, Captain Ajinkya Rahane hopes to get more support from the Spinners of Eden.
“As a coach, as a team management, we always play to any surface of us. Of course, this will be the control of the curator,” Pandit told the media here on Sunday.
Pandit avoided any clear comments on the topic, saying any team, including KKR, would like to participate in a court that supports their skills.
He said before his clash with the Mumbai Indians: “At this moment, my focus is definitely on the next game we are going to play tomorrow.”
At the moment, I absolutely haven’t considered what I have to do or what I have to control. But let’s focus on tomorrow’s game, which is crucial for us.
He said: “I don’t know what a system in different states is controlling the franchise. But for now, what I understand is the surface that is offered to us, of course, as team management, as coaches, as captains, we expect to provide something.
When asked whether IPL teams should have seven of their 14 league games that get more discounts on their home courts, Pandit replied: “Who is not happy with this? I mean, that’s an easy answer.”
“Narine is suitable for MI games”
Pandit confirmed that veteran all-rounder Sunil Narine has recovered from the disease and can clash with the Mumbai Indians.

The Mumbai Indians lost two games in the IPL, and Pandit said his team hopes to put further pressure on the master.

“But the game is played in Mumbai, we have to adapt immediately to the conditions here, and that’s what we’ve been planning and (hopefully) we will be able to do that,” he said.
