Mercedes said India could be one of the five Maybach markets around the world.

Udaipur: Mercedes-Mebach chief Daniel Lescow said on Tuesday that India could become one of the five global markets in Maybach’s range, and demand for high-end luxury cars in the country could grow steadily.
The luxury car maker further increased the country’s range by launching the Maybach SL 680 monogram series at a price of Rs 42 crore (former showroom).
Lescow told reporters here that India is a very important market for the brand due to the country’s growing sense of luxury.
He added: “India has entered the top 10 markets in Maybach globally and has the potential to develop further. In our opinion, India has the potential to become Maybach globally top five.”
Lesco said that currently, markets such as China, the United States and South Korea lead sales of global brands.
He called India one of the brand’s most important markets, noting that the country’s further growth range was large.
“We are very happy to see how perceived the brand is to Indian customers. This is also reflected in the sales figures,” Lesco said.
He noted that the company further aims to raise awareness of Indian brands by taking several initiatives, including the proposal of an exclusive Maybach lounge.
Lesco said the company already has dedicated lounges in Hyderabad and could propose more such spaces to further promote the business.
He noted that the company sold about 21,000 Maybach units last year.
Mercedes-Benz India offers a diverse mix of Mercedes-Maybach models including the S 680 Night Series, the GLS 600 Night Series, the EQS 680 Night Series, the EQS SUV and the locally made S 580 Limousine.
The Maybach SL 680 letter combination series is equipped with a 4.0-liter V8 Biturbo engine that offers 585 hp and a top speed of 260 km/h.
Delivery of the model is expected to begin early next year.
