Congress says part of the WAQF bill is a polarization map for BJP

New Delhi: Expecting the government to accept the WAQF (Amendment) bill at the ongoing parliamentary meeting, Congress claimed on Sunday that the proposed legislation is part of the BJP’s strategy to put society in a permanent state of polarization by demonizing ethnic minority communities. The party also claimed the main flaw in the bill, calling it an “attack on the Indian Constitution”.

“The Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024, is part of BJP’s strategy, and continuing attempts to damage the centuries-old bonds of social harmony… to demonstrate minority communities by spreading false propaganda and creating prejudices, dilute constitutional provisions that guarantee equal rights and protections to all citizens, and defame traditions and institutions of minority communities to keep our society in a state of permanent polarisation for An Congressional statement issued by electroral spokesman Jairam Ramesh said.

Ramesh reaffirmed the bookings, filed and registered during the review of the bill by the Joint Parliamentary Committee, who argued that the bill “existed deeply” on five charges: “All institutions created by previous laws are actively aimed at depriving religion and authority of religion and authority. The ambiguity is to determine who can donate their land for WAQF purposes, thus changing the definition of WAQF itself.
The statement further alleges: “The provisions in existing laws simply undermine the administration of WAQF without any reason,” said.
