Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reiterated the government’s commitment to provide 100% of the government’s work to local tribes in the institutional area.
Mr Naidu held a review meeting with Secretariat officials on Monday to discuss the measures needed to restore the third place, which was revoked by the Supreme Court in 2020.
He recalled that No. 3 was issued by the undivided Andhra Pradesh government in 2000 to ensure justice was achieved to the tribal people. However, this act was rejected by the Supreme Court.
“The state government wants to restore the third time. Officials must explore all possible legal avenues to restore the welfare of No. 3. Thoroughly study the Supreme Court’s judgment and develop a legal roadmap to safeguard tribal rights while complying with the constitutional provisions,” the chief minister said. ”
Digging on YSRCP
Mr Naidu said, “The negligence of the former YSRCP government complicated this issue. In 1986, a GO was issued to ensure that local tribes have 100% retained in the field of agency. Due to legal barriers, No. 3 was proposed in 2000 after considering the increase in bookings for women.
This behavior helped 4,626 tribal candidates get teaching jobs. However, in 2002, the matter arrived at the court, and eventually the Supreme Court revoked the journey.
Mr Naidu criticized the former YSRCP government for failing to submit a petition for review in a timely manner, resulting in losses to the tribal community. He said that even if the petition was filed for review, the Supreme Court rejected the petition due to partial negligence of the government.
Mr Naidu reminded officials of his time commitment to reinstate third place or provide equal justice to the tribe. He stressed the need to gather opinions from tribal communities and associations and conduct legal research on Supreme Court decisions to reduce the actions required to protect tribal rights.
The government is considering three options, including providing 100% reservations to local tribes in the field of institutions and providing proportional reservations based on the tribal population in the institutional area, and following recommendations from the Supreme Court that no more than 50% reservations are required, but through it, tribal rights are secured.
