Committed to upgrading medical services in Bihar: Nitish
Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar opened a new building here on Saturday, Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), and highlighted his government's commitment to upgrading health care services in the state.
Officials said the building consists of two towers, 1,117 beds and is equipped with modern medical technology and patient-friendly facilities.
Kumar asserted: “This is not only a building, but also a commitment to the people of Bihar.”
Medical facilities at the two towers include intensive care units, private rooms, air ambulances and a dedicated outpatient department (OPD) for major specialty stores, according to a statement released by the Chief Minister’s Office.
It said the infrastructure also includes clean waiting areas, elevators and ramps to improve access to patients and waiters.
“Once construction work for all towers is completed, PMCH will have a total capacity of over 5,460 beds. The investment for the project is Rs 5,545 crore. The entire project will be completed by March 2027, which will be the largest hospital in the country,” the statement said.
