Ministry of Defense buys electronic warfare (EW) kit and aircraft modification kit from BEL for Rs 2,385

The Ministry of Defense signed a contract with Bharat Electronics Limited, Bengaluru (BEL) on Monday to acquire the Electronic Warfare (EW) Kit (EW) Kit and the Aircraft Modification Kit and its installation on the MI-17 V5 helicopter, as well as related equipment for the Indian Air Force, with 2,3856 CRORE at 2,3856 Crore.
The contract was signed in New Delhi by Defense Minister Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh, which was signed in front of the presence of Defense Minister Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh on April 7, 2025.
This EW kit will greatly improve the operational survivability of helicopters in hostile environments. Most sub-assemblies and parts will come from indigenous manufacturers. The project will promote and encourage active participation of Indian electronics and related industries, including MSME. Media reports released by the media say that the MI-17 V5’s kit is a major leap in developing Indigenous EW capabilities.
