Congress, Dyfi Grand Slam decides to rename Nehru Yuva Kendra

The decision to change the name of Nehru Yuva Kendra allegedly raised harsh criticism from Congress leaders and the Democratic Youth Federation of Kerala (DYFI).

Congress leader and Nehru Centre Chairman MM Hassan said in a statement here that the decision clearly demonstrates how much memory the BJP remembers India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. He claimed that when he came to power, the Narendra Modi government changed the names of several institutions under the name of Nehru.

By changing the name of Nehru Yuva Kendra, the government believes it can remove Nehru’s memory from the minds of young people. He said the Modi government showed intolerance and revenge towards Nehru.

DYFI asked the coalition government to withdraw from the decision to change the name of Nehru Yuva Kendra to “Mera Yuva Bharat” in Hindi and “My Bharat” in English. Dyfi State Secretary VK Sanoj was the decision at a press conference here and was part of the BJP government’s saffron agenda. He said Defie will hold a protest at the regional office of Nehru Yuva Kendra on Friday.

According to DYFI, the coordinator and nose officer of Nehru Yuva Kendra were informed of the name and logo changes, but there was no reason for this. The decision is part of an attempt to build a history of distorted versions. Dyfi said the Sangh Parivar troops have been arbitrarily changing the name of the agency on the day they came to power.

Asked about the decision on the change, officials Nehru Yuva Kendra said here: “They are waiting for instructions.”
