Congress Reggskerala units appoint Sonny Joseph as chief along with 2026 polls

New Delhi: Congress began organisational change in its Kerala department by appointing Sunny Joseph as a replacement for K Sudhakaran’s chief and named three new working presidents on Thursday. Kerala Parliament lawmaker Joseph will lead the state government of the big old party in next year’s parliamentary poll. He will be supported by newly appointed working presidents PC Vishnudh and Ap Anil Kumar and Shafi Parambil. While Vishnunadh and Kumar are MLAs, Parambil is a member of Congress.
In addition to four, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also appointed party MP Adoor Prakash as the convener of the state’s United Democratic Front coalition.
The appointment is the term of office of the current conference, which ends on May 23 next year, and is currently a poll for 2026.

“The President of Congress has appointed the President and Chairman of the Kerala Congress Committee (KPCC), and has also approved the proposal to appoint the convener of the UDF and will take effect immediately.


“The new chairman of KPCC will be Sunny Joseph of MLA and the convener of UDF will be Adoor Prakash of MP. In the statement, the party appreciates the contributions of outgoing Kerala department head K. Sudhakaran, MP and UDF convener MM Hassan. He also said in the statement: “The party also appreciates the contributions of the current presidents of KPCC, Kodikkunnil Suresh, MP, TN Prathapan and T. Siddique of MLA. ”

The party also said in a statement that MLA’s PC Vishnunadh has relieved him of his current responsibility as AICC secretary.

Venugopal said in another statement that the president of Congress had appointed K Sudhakaran, while Akhilesh Prasad Singh was a member of Congress as the Congress Working Committee was permanently invited, effective immediately.

Akhilesh Prasad Singh was recently replaced as Bihar Parliament Director.
