Congress ruled on Hosapete with MGA land ownership distribution for two years

hosapete: With the Congress-led Karnataka government serving for two years, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s government will commemorate the occasion with a massive public event, highlighting its focus on inclusive development and welfare-driven governance.

The event, titled Pragatiyatta Karnataka – Samarpane Sankalpa (Progressive Karnataka – Dedicated Commitment), will be held at 11 am on May 20 at the regional stadium in Vijayanagara Hosapete. One of the highlights of the day will be the allocation of ownership deeds for income villages to over a hundred thousand families, many of whom have lived without formal land ownership.

Opposition leaders of Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will hand over the ownership deed to the beneficiaries, while Rajya Sabha opposition leader Mallikarjun Kharge will unveil the plan. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will host the event.

Deputy Chief Minister and Chairman of the Karnataka Congress Committee DK Shivakumar told reporters on Monday that the state government not only served for two years, but also repaid the people by distributing more than one hundred thousand land records to the people.

“Our government is rewriting history through work that has not been possible for 100 years. The BHU guarantee program for the tax department is historic,” DCM told reporters after examining the preparations organized here to celebrate the event and distribute land records.

“In addition to its five guarantee programs, the state government has launched the Bhoo Guarantee (Land Guarantee) initiative to carry out reforms in the tax sector. Despite living on the land for hundreds of years, many people are not considered residents of income villages and therefore, are not eligible for land ownership documents. This is a village in a qualifying, eligible beneficiary village.

“Although regular caste, regular tribes and backward-class families already live on the land, the area is rejected because it is not classified as a tax village,” Shivakumar said.

As part of the plan, he said more than one hundred thousand families would receive a deed of land ownership, calling it a “new chapter” in Karnataka’s income history.

Shivakumar explained that individuals who have lived on government or private lands for more than 16 years within the income limit will now be eligible for ownership. Tahsildars will personally inspect such sites and once verified, the land will be registered with the sub-registration agency for free. The beneficiaries can then use the property as collateral for state-owned bank loans, although they will not be allowed to sell the land for 15 years.

He added: “This is not emotionally based politics. We focus on improving lives. Our government is committed to using the mandate given by the people to carry out development efforts and system reforms across various sectors.”

Shivakumar also announced that the statue of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi has been installed at the western end of the Hosapete regional stadium. He recalled her historic visit to the town, and he said the statue will be unveiled on May 20 as part of the plan.

Housing, Minority Welfare and WAQF Minister and Regional Responsible Minister BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan took the lead in proactively installing the statue.

In the mega event “Pragatiyatta karnataka”, Samarpane Sankalpa’DK Shivakumar held a bicycle rally in Hosapete on Monday. The rally was held to make people aware of the deeds of ownership of tax villages distributed to one hundred thousand families under the government’s human-centered flagship initiative.

The rally that began at the stadium in the area traveled through the bus booths including Babu Jagjivan Ram Circle, Dr. Puneeth Rajkumar Circle and KSRTC before the end of Gandhi Chowk. Hundreds of youth attended the rally to the energy and visibility of the program.

Minister of Housing, WAQF and Minority Welfare and Vijayanagara District Responsible BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan, Ballari MP E. Tukaram, Hosapete MLA HR HR Gaviyappa, Kudligi MLA MLA MLA NT Srinivas, Dr. Kampli Mla J. Ganesh attended Rally.
