Congress seeks a full-party meeting chaired by PM

New Delhi: Congress on Saturday called for a party-wide meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, following a “unprecedented” announcement of a ceasefire between India and Pakistan in Washington, D.C., to give political parties confidence in development. A part of the BJP praised India’s strong reaction to the Pahargam terrorist attacks and praised Mr. Modi’s leadership and the courage of the armed forces.

Congress excavated the US mediation at the Modi administration, demanding that the special session of Congress be convened as early as possible to discuss all issues to begin with the Pahalgam attack on April 22 until the ceasefire with Pakistan began on May 10.

With X, Congress Secretary General and media-led Jairam Ramesh said: “In view of the unprecedented announcement in Washington, D.C., it is now more than ever to preside over a full-party meeting and bring political parties into confidence.” He also asked for a special parliamentary meeting to discuss all the issues that began with the Pahargam terrorist attacks and the way forward for collective determination.

It asserted that India reaffirmed its commitment to peace and regional stability while maintaining zero tolerance for all forms of terrorism.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said every Indian was full of pride because he praised Mr. Modi’s firm response to the Pahargam terrorist attack and “beheaded” the enemy.
