The Central Consumer Protection Agency (CCPA) issued a harsh warning to the Coaching Center on Thursday (April 17, 2025) to avoid misleading advertising and unfair trade practices in the IIT-JEE test results approach.
Consumer rights regulators have recommended coaching agencies to strictly follow the 2024 guidelines set for such entities.

According to the official statement, the coaching center must ensure that its representatives are “accurate, clear, and free of misleading claims.”
The CCPA emphasizes that advertising should transparently disclose key details, including the student’s name, ranking, course type and whether it is paid.

Authorities have clearly warned the Coach Center not to “guaranteed success” and require the same font size as other important information to be displayed in the same font size.
The CCPA has taken major law enforcement actions in the field, issued 49 notices and imposed a fine of Rs 77.6 lakh on 24 coaching centres for the violations. These centers have been directed to stop misleading advertising and unfair trade practices.

Previous CCPA actions have targeted the Coaching Center to serve a variety of competitive exams, including UPSC CSE, IIT-JEE, NEET, RBI and NABARD, among others.
