Mukesh Ambani’s ancestral residence in Gujarat, now a memorial to Dhirubhai Ambani, reflects the rich heritage of the family and is open to the public at Rs 2.

The 100,000,000 rupees Ancestral Palace of the Ambani Brothers is located in Gujarat

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited, lives in Antilia, one of the world’s most expensive homes worth Rs 150 crore. However, not many people know about his ancestors in Gujarat, which has deep emotional, cultural and historical value to the Ambani family. This beautiful mansion is located in the village of Chorwad in the Janagard region near the Arabian Sea and is known as the “Mangarolvalano Delo”.

The property was built on 1.2 acres of land more than 100 years ago and is currently worth Rs 10 billion. The mansion is surrounded by a quiet garden filled with trees and colorful flowers. This is a two-story house designed in a traditional Gujarati style with a central courtyard, multiple rooms, a wide balcony and old-fashioned building that remains intact even with a modern renovation.

In the early 20th century, local landlords owned the house and rented a portion of it to Mukesh Ambani’s grandfather Hirachand Gordhanbhai Ambani. He lives there with his wife Jamnaben and their six children. Among them is Dhirubhai Ambani, who was born in 1932. Dhirubhai spent childhood playing, learning and dreaming in this house. At the age of 16, he moved to Aden (now in Yemen) to work, but he always returned to his childhood home even after establishing his own business empire in Mumbai.

After Dhirubhai Ambani died in 2002, the Ambani family decided to buy the entire mansion and turn it into a memorial. It was officially opened to the public in 2011 and was named “Dhirubhai Ambani Memorial Hall”. The house is divided into two parts – a private part of the family and another open to the public, each with its own entrance.

Visitors to the public areas can see photos, documents, awards and personal belongings of Dhirubhai, which showcase his journey from a small town boy to one of India’s most respected businessmen. The private section includes a family room, meditation area, prayer hall, and even a library and meeting space.

Two well-known companies, Amitabh Teotia Designs and Abhikram, were responsible for the restoration. They retain the traditional beauty of the house while adding environmentally friendly features such as solar panels, rainwater collection systems and organic farming spaces.

The mansion is open to visitors from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day, except on Mondays and public holidays. The admission fee is only Rs 2, while the guided tour costs Rs 10. There is even a small shop inside where visitors can buy books and souvenirs. Many people, including students and locals, come here to respect Dhirubhai Ambani and find motivation in his inspiring life story.
