Faridabad Home Tour by Manu Bhaker

Indian shooter Manu Bhaker won a bronze medal at the Women’s 10M aerial pistol event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, recently offering spectators a virtual tour of her newly renovated house in Faridabad. The 3BHK apartment she gifted to parents is a deep personal space that reflects the combination of comfort, warmth and family.

During a family tour with Asian paint, Bhaker shares how interiors capture the nature of mothers. The house she lives with her parents and brothers has a simple yet elegant appearance that combines modern aesthetics with traditional influences.

One of the most eye-catching features of the house is the beautiful wallpaper from Sabyasachi’s Nilaya series, inspired by Pichwai Art. This traditional art form originated from Nathdwara in Rajasthan and was associated with Lord Krishna, especially his Shrinathji form. The wallpaper is decorated with a sophisticated design of beautiful flora, fauna, cattle and trees representing the scenic Vrindavan. Bhaker revealed that this design choice was close to her heart, saying: “Cows and Trees – it’s our atmosphere.”

As Professor Rajan Shripad Fulari of the World Design University explained, Pichwai paintings are usually done on cloth and used as temple hangings. This art form can be traced back to the 17th century and has profound religious and cultural significance.

Apart from wallpaper, Bhaker’s home has several other thoughtful design elements. Her medals are proudly displayed on the wall to remind her of her achievements. The living area has segmented wooden furniture that creates a clean and structured look. The color scheme of the house is carefully planned – blue and soft green keeps the parents’ bedroom calm while the older brother’s space neutral tones create a relaxed and practical environment.

Bhaker shared that her mother played a major role in choosing the design elements of the house. She said: “This is my mother’s choice (Sabyasachi) wallpaper.” For Bhaker, family is the existence of comfort, love and mother. She said emotionally: “If she weren’t with me, I wouldn’t have done it here.”

Bhaker’s home is a blend of tradition and modernity, not only a place to live, but also a space with deep emotional value to her and her family.
