Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan failed to seek a special category of status (SCS) for Andhra Pradesh amid Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Amaravati.
Speaking to the media on Saturday at Bairagipatta, Tirupati, Mr Narayana said: “It is their responsibility to ask this question. They are still silent audiences.
In response to a question raised by Tirupati MP Maddila Gurumorthy in Parliament, the Centre made it clear that it is responsible for only 10% of the World Bank’s Rs 150,000 crore loans from the World Bank to build the capital. Mr Narayana said the remaining burden would be a huge burden for the state government.
He said: “If the capital was built 10 years ago, it would be grand. But Mr. Naidu has not yet completed it and his successor, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, did not cooperate. At least, the Prime Minister did not announce funding to the capital while laying the stone again.”
“Sadly the forest sector remains silent while elephants are destroying the agricultural sector and killing farmers throughout the region,” said Rama Naidu, executive member of the CPI state.
He asked Mr. Pawan Kalyan, who is also the Minister of Forests, to immediately respond to the problem in the region and to protect crops and farmers from threats.
