CPI state executives suggest KE ISMAIL suspends 6 months

The Governor of the Communist Party of India (CPI) has recommended a six-month suspension for senior party leader and former state executive member Ke Ismail. The party’s State Council will make a final decision on the actions against him.

A meeting of party directors in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday decided to file a disciplinary action against Mr Ismail, a lawsuit involving his debate on the death of former Ernakulam’s former CPI secretary P. Raju.

The party’s Ernakulam district committee sought action against Mr Ismail after his statements indicated that the party member Raju. Mr Ismail’s comment was that some leaders in the party were controversial due to Raju.

The State Chief Executive sought explanation of Mr. Ismail’s statement. The meeting held Thursday found his statement unsatisfactory and recommended a six-month suspension of discipline.

However, Mr Ismail declined to comment on the party-state enforcement ruling. He expressed his commitment to CPI, indicating that he would continue to keep in touch with the party until his last breath. He said he did not receive any official information from the party.
