Cricket features six teams at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics

New Delhi: Cricket will return to the 2028 Olympic Games in 2028 at the Los Angeles Games, witnessing six teams competing for the highest honor.

Organizers confirmed this on Wednesday.

Cricket matches last featured at the 1900 Olympic Games in Paris, with one two-day matches held in Paris and two-day matches in Great Britain and France, and are now considered an informal test.

In 2028 Los Angeles, cricket will be played in the T20 format, with all six teams participating in men’s and women’s competitions.

Each team can be named as a team of 15 members, with a total of 90 athletes allocated for each gender.

The International Cricket Committee (ICC) consists of 12 full members of Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, West Indies and Zimbabwe.

Another 94 countries formed a deputy member group.

The qualifying criteria for the 2028 games of the Cricket Championship have not been confirmed, but the United States will likely gain a direct position as the host country in the four-year event, meaning only five teams can pass the qualification to win.

Cricket is one of five new sports to be held at the next Olympics. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and 2023 approved cricket for LA28, as well as baseball/softball, flag soccer, hockey (six points) and pumpkin.
