Cricket gambling arrested in Hanam Kenda

Warangal: Police arrested Bookie Gattam Veeramani Kumar, also known as Pandu, for illegal online cricket betting and seized Rs 1.5 lakh in cash and two cell phones in Padmakshi Colony.
In recent police operations, the arrests have resulted in three people associated with online cricket betting, including a Hyderabad-based gambling agent, Chintapandu Krishna and two Hanamkonda residents, P. Omkar and P. Suresh. During the trial, there was evidence that Kumar, 28, was connected to a betting racket from Kakinada.
Kumar revealed that in 2023 he met Yogesh Gupta (also known as Jogesh Gupta) from Hyderabad, Goa, who introduced him to an online cricket betting app. As part of the arrangement, Kumar promises to earn a 9% profit and provide login details while also facilitating transactions with a shared account.
The survey shows that about Rs 5 crore transactions were conducted through these accounts, of which Rs 3 crore targeted various accounts related to Gupta. Kumar himself earned Rs 1 crore, some of which were reportedly used to purchase land and two wine stores in Kakinada.
Police continue to search for two main suspects in the case: Kitiri Ranjeet, a player from Hanamkonda, and Yogesh Gupta of Bookie in Hyderabad.
